The cost of Squarespace in 2026: is it expensive?
Squarespace is known as a user-friendly CMS that makes it easy to build a professional website. But how much does Squarespace cost? Is it a wise investment for your business? In this blog post, you’ll learn how much Squarespace costs in 2026, what you get in return, and what you should consider beforehand.
How much will Squarespace cost in 2026?
Squarespace offers several subscription plans:
So it's relatively cheaper if you pay annually.
Note: Always check squarespace.com for the most up-to-date prices and discounts.
What do you get for this money?
All subscriptions include:
Web hosting
SSL security
Fully responsive designs
Templates that you can fully customize yourself
24/7 support from the Squarespace Help Desk
Automatic (security) updates
The differences between the plans mainly lie in the additional features, such as the ability to add JavaScript, more advanced analytics and marketing tools, increased video storage, and lower transaction fees for online sales with a higher-tier plan. The Squarespace website provides a complete overview of all features for each plan.
What are the additional costs?
Squarespace is an all-in-one website builder, but not everything is included.
A domain name
Costs approximately €10 to €20 per year. We recommend registering your domain with a third-party provider. This makes it easier to switch to a different platform in the future, if needed. GoDaddy is a good hosting provider. A domain hosted with GoDaddy can be easily connected to your Squarespace website. You can also choose the Dutch providers TransIP or Antagonist.Email hosting
For example, through Google Workspace. Starting at €82 per year per email address. You can sign up for this through Squarespace, but setting it up directly through Google Workspace gives you more flexibility for the future.Additional features
Depending on your needs, additional subscriptions may be required, for example, to add: Acuity Scheduling (appointment scheduler), Email Campaigns (email marketing), and external payment solutions.
Why choose Squarespace?
Although Squarespace may seem more expensive at first glance than, say, WordPress, you get a complete package that saves you a lot of time and effort. Benefits include:
Ease of use: No technical knowledge is required.
Professional design: You can choose from a variety of beautiful templates that you can fully customize.
Time savings: You don't have to worry about web hosting, updates, and security.
Support: Squarespace offers 24/7 customer support.
In short, Squarespace is a website builder that makes life easier for you as an entrepreneur.
Do it yourself or have it done?
The idea behind Squarespace is that you can build a website without any technical knowledge. But it does take a lot of time, especially if you’ve never done this before. It also depends on what you want the end result to be. If you’re on a tight budget, enjoy experimenting, and have enough time, building it yourself isn’t a bad choice.
However, if you want a strategically designed website that’s built to attract customers, it takes more than just filling a template with your own text and images. Even if you’d rather spend your time on other things, it’s better to have a website built for you. A professionally built Squarespace website takes into account the underlying strategy, a clear structure with logical navigation, and content that resonates with your website visitors.

Squarespace and iDEAL payments
Since late February 2026, iDEAL/WERO payments have been available directly in Squarespace. To use this feature, you’ll need to use their own payment provider: Squarespace Payments. You can read more about it in this blog post.
Unfortunately, Bancontact payments are not (yet) supported.
